Retained by AMSP to provide advisory services to long-standing member. Provided 2 day assessment of business, through AMSP Consulting Services. Provided in-depth final report. Member business contracted SBS after initial consulting assignment and continued in advisory role to owner for 1 additional year. Business losses were stemmed, company sold assets, became profitable and remains in business today.
Engaged by firm to evaluate potential buyout of distressed mailing business in southern US. Evaluated financials, Several discussions with mailing owner. Ran pro-forma reports, interviewed Controller and provided final analysis of buyout opportunity to M & A Firm.
Retained by Mergers & Acquisition Chicago owner to evaluate business challenges, losses and put together strategy for renewed profitability. Worked directly with plant manager and staff to re-evaluate sales and marketing campaign, staffing, customer relationships and refocus company. Created new sales and marketing program, advised on staff changes, worked to integrate new marketing campaign, started webinar series for clients, trained sales staff and built sales program. Consulted with client for over 16 months and remain as advisor on “as-needed” basis.
Retained to review large scale mailing operations for multiple locations in state. Worked directly with CEO of $100M document processor, mailer and Fulfillment operation. Provided strategic planning for reducing costs by consolidating operations and logistics between facilities.
Retained by Owner of Marketing Agency who specializes in Fulfillment work with Consumer Packaging Goods business and large national Telecom client. Owner retained SBS to provide knowledge and advisory on selling data analytics to prospect clients in manufacturing sector. In collaboration with client, SBS was hired as a “Data expert” and accompanied the Agency AE and creative staff on sales calls to customer prospect. Over period of 6 months, team worked to understand prospects challenges, needs and provide solutions through use of data profiling of current prospect customer databases. Prospect’s business was eventually earned and led to over $350,000 in new business. SBS continues in advisory role with client and customer and working on additional sales initiatives – specifically keyed to use of data analytics and profiling to earn new business.
Retained to evaluate potential of taking an envelope company to market for possible sale, or provide strategy to build sales prior to sale. Worked with M &A firm and President of envelope manufacturer to assess value and compare to sale opportunity.
Retained by AMSP to provide advisory services to long-standing AMSP member. Provided 2 day assessment of business through AMSP Consulting Services. Worked with president, interviewed all managers, worked on 3 specific challenges facing the company and family ownership. Provided comprehensive findings and report. President of company contracted with SBS after initial consulting assignment and continue as an active consultant – over two years. Work has included rebuilding sales staff, providing Harrison behavior assessment evaluations of top managers and candidates for new positions, review of CSR personnel and strategic recommendations for managing top 4 clients.
SBS hosted and led a one day retreat with entire management team – focused on a company-wide, on-line survey of all employees through Performance Insights. Company was fully evaluated and compared to national database on a wide range of business standards, human relations and overall scorecard. Advisory work continues with client. Company is performing well above industry standards.
Retained by NAPL Consulting Group to provide comprehensive “Strategic Business Assessment” onsite analysis. Worked directly with business owner and key staff to assess business challenges, current business management software platform, company standard operating procedures and examining possible marketing services options to grow business.
Spent two days at onsite plant interviewing owner, staff and support personnel. Engaged in tour, team discussions, reviewed technology platform hardware, software & job workflow process. Also had significant discussions with owner team.
Created and produced final, fifteen page Assessment Report to client, detailing recommendations to three primary areas of need with 5 actionable steps for each recommendation. Followed up report with 2 conference calls to discuss and strategize with owner, building an action plan and time line. Client is moving forward with changes to business including; acquiring “next generation” business management software modules, actively pursuing adding two new hires in critical areas of need, working on simplifying a sales plan that allows better targeting, accountability and measuring.
Retained by new owners and Operations Director to complete thorough review of business operations, integration of new management software, inventory control process, business layout. Address a wide range of challenges facing new owners with outdated facility, manual practices, labor costs, pricing structure and valuation of accounts.
Business used my recommendations to hire a new facility fulfillment director. Director followed my recommendations to completely re-design warehouse & fulfillment center, acquire new racking, build bin system and integrate fulfillment inventory control software. Company also adopted my recommendations on addressing inventory receiving and quality control problems. Business has restructured and is concentrating on more profitable services that fit with their core competencies.
Provided data & mailing industry analysis and advisor on eventual sale of mailing business to printing firm in Minnesota. Sale successfully concluded.
Provided advisory role in supporting owner, positioning company for sale to printer in eastern Minnesota. Sale completed successfully.
Engaged by owner to assist in integration of data firm into printing company. Also assessed printing company challenges in building sales & CSR staff. Advised on financial condition and future strategy.
